Background Information
I am from Atlanta, GA and am a senior here at the University of Maryland. I will be graduating in the spring 2006 with a B.S. in psychology. Currently, I am a teaching assistant for an introduction psychology course and am a member of Psi Chi, the National Honors Society for psychology.
Research Interests
My main research interests are in the area of health psychology and addiction. Currently, I am the head research assistant for the Behavioral Activation Treatment for Depressed Smokers grant (BATS). This study is comparing the effectiveness of two alternate behavioral interventions in a population of depressed smokers (Behavioral Activation Treatment and standard treatment). I am also working on a study that is examining levels of negative affect and peer support as predictors for smoking relapse in college smokers. After graduation, I hope to attend graduate school in Clinical psychology.
