Background Information

I started my graduate education at the University of Maryland in the fall of 2000. I received my B.A. in Psychology in 1999 from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA. In the year directly preceding my graduate studies, I worked as a research assistant for Dr. Stephen Heishman at the National Institute on Drug Abuse, where I was involved in research related to drug craving and the validation of a measure to used to induce drug craving in marijuana smokers.

Research Interests

My research interests include psychopathy and substance misuse; specifically, I am interested in the underlying mechanisms related to psychopathy and the explicit examination of the relationship between psychopathy and drug use. I am currently working on my dissertation examining the relationship between risk-taking and psychopathy in a sample of inner-city drug users.
