Background Information
I graduated in May 2008 with a B.S. with honors in Psychology from the University of Maryland, College Park. Currently, I work as a full-time RA at CAPER focusing on a longitudinal project which assesses predictors of HIV-infection in a community sample of adolescents. In addition, I collaborate with several studies at the Salvation Army Harbor Lights substance-use rehabilitation center in Washington D.C. and am working on a project which assesses the outcome of behavioral activation treatment aimed at improving stress and time management. As an undergraduate I completed and defended my honors thesis which examined the relationship between parent and adolescent risk taking using the Balloon Analogue Risk Task (BART), a behavioral task designed to measure risk-taking propensity. I was also able to work on this project in the summer of 2007 when I was awarded the Senior Summer Scholars Grant. I hope to attend a clinical psychology graduate program to attain my Ph.D. in the future
Research Interests
I have been actively exploring my various research interests since I graduated. My main research interests are within the realm of health psychology and anxiety disorders. Specifically, I would like to explore sleep disorders, HIV medication adherence, and generalized anxiety disorder.
